Glossary & Terminology

Executive Summary

Artisan Furniture is a socially conscious B2B furniture platform supplying handcrafted, ethically sourced furniture to trade clients (retailers, interior designers, property developers, etc.) across the UK, USA, EU, Canada, and Australia. Established in 1995, the company has built a vertically integrated operational model – from manufacturing through fulfillment – that enables global reach to over 30 countries without requiring partners to hold inventory. Artisan offers three key partner programs (Dropship, Trade, and Wholesale) tailored to different business needs. Each program provides distinct pricing benefits, order-volume expectations, and fulfillment arrangements, while all emphasize quick delivery, flexible ordering with no minimum quantities, and a white-label service that keeps the retailer’s brand at the forefront.

Dropship Program

The Dropship Program allows partners to sell Artisan’s furniture without holding any stock. There is no minimum order requirement – even single items can be purchased on demand – and Artisan Furniture ships products directly to the end customer on the retailer’s behalf. All drop-ship orders are fulfilled quickly (approximately two to five working days) with free mainland delivery, and shipments are completely white-label (no Artisan branding on packaging or paperwork). Pricing under this program follows standard dropship rates, and retailers earn an extra 10% discount on any order over the threshold. Importantly, there are no membership fees or annual purchase commitments, making this program an accessible entry point for businesses of any size.

Trade Program

The Trade Program is designed for business customers with their own warehousing and delivery capability, offering deeper discounts – up to 25% off standard dropship pricing – for those who manage inventory and distribution in-house. By purchasing stock in bulk, trade partners gain greater control over their supply chain and can keep products on hand for immediate sale – an advantage for brick-and-mortar stores and for executing large interior projects (e.g. furnishing an entire hotel). Partners handle the final delivery to their clients (providing a personalized service), though Artisan can arrange direct shipment from its warehouse to the customer’s address when needed. The Trade Program imposes no recurring order requirements or long-term contracts; participants can order as needed and leverage higher discounts for larger one-time projects without ongoing commitments.

Wholesale Program

The Wholesale Program is tailored to high-volume buyers and provides the largest discounts – up to 50% off dropship pricing. This tier is intended for partners who can purchase full container loads of furniture in a single order. By buying in container quantities, wholesale customers secure the lowest unit prices, which boosts their profit margins or helps offset the cost of storing a large inventory. This program is ideal for sizable retailers, distributors, or commercial projects that require bulk furniture procurement (for example, outfitting an entire hotel or multi-unit property development). Wholesale partners effectively run their own import operation with direct factory supply: Artisan Furniture coordinates the logistics of the container shipment and delivers the bulk order to the partner’s facility. This gives the partner full control over a significant stock of product, while benefiting from factory-direct pricing and economies of scale.

Fulfillment & Global Infrastructure

Artisan Furniture has developed a robust fulfillment infrastructure with localized distribution centers in key markets (the UK, United States, Australia, Canada and Europe) to ensure fast delivery and broad coverage. In-stock items are delivered to end customers in as little as ~3 working days within domestic markets. Shipping is provided free of charge in core service regions – including UK mainland, all 48 contiguous U.S. states, Germany, Spain, Canada and Australia. For other destinations, Artisan offers worldwide delivery via road freight across Europe and air freight to other continents, reaching customers in over 30 countries. All dropship deliveries are handled with a white-label approach to maintain the retailer’s branding, and the platform manages fulfillment and returns efficiently (including accommodating change-of-mind returns). Notably, a single trade account provides access to all three programs, allowing partners to flexibly utilize Dropship, Trade, or Wholesale services as their needs evolve.

Ethical Sourcing & Customization

A commitment to ethical sourcing and craftsmanship underpins Artisan Furniture’s business model. The company owns its manufacturing facility in Jaipur, India, where it works directly with skilled artisans to produce handcrafted furniture and home dΓ©cor. This vertical integration not only ensures strict quality control but also enables extensive product customization. Artisan offers an On-Demand production service for items not stocked in its regional warehouses (made-to-order, with approximately a 12-week lead time) as well as Bespoke furniture options that allow retailers to request custom modifications or entirely new designs to meet specific client needs. By working directly with artisan communities, the company ensures fair labor practices and supports community development, reflecting core values of social responsibility and community welfare. Sustainable practices are also central – Artisan uses responsibly sourced materials and has patented an innovative β€œknockdown” furniture design that dramatically reduces transit volume and carbon emissions. This socially responsible, innovative approach has earned Artisan Furniture industry recognition (including certification as a B Corporation) and reinforced its reputation for ethical, sustainable operations.
