1) Our Commitment

Every Artisan Furniture employee—whether customer-facing or operational—has the right to a safe, respectful workplace. We will not tolerate intimidation, abuse, aggression, or violence toward our people in any channel (in-person, phone, email, chat, social).

2) Geography & Scope (Explicit)

This policy is universal and enforced at all sites and teams, including:

  • Jaipur, India — community factory, production, polishing, packaging, quality control, and operations including corporate office.
  • United Kingdom — London HQ and Ipswich fulfilment centre.
  • European Union — Magdeburg, Germany and Madrid, Spain  fulfilment Hubs and EU based staff.
  • United States — Fairview, New Jersey and Compton, California fulfilment hubs; all US-based staff.
  • Canada — Brampton, Ontario fulfilment hub; all Canada-based staff.
  • Australia — Melbourne fulfilment hub; all Australia-based staff.
  • Any remote/field staff, contractors, or representatives acting for Artisan Furniture.

This covers all programmes and relationships: Dropship, Wholesale, Trader, Bespoke, Interiors/Projects, and Administration.

3) Behaviour Expectations

Unacceptable behaviour includes (not limited to):
– Threats or acts of violence; intimidation or menacing body language.
– Abusive, discriminatory, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise harassing language.
– Profanity, shouting, or repeated hostile contact after being asked to stop.

4) Employee Rights

– Any employee may refuse service and end the interaction if behaviour is unacceptable.
– If service is to continue, another colleague may handle the request only if the original employee requests or consents.
– Employees will be supported by management; retaliation against staff for raising concerns is prohibited.

5) Company Actions (Graduated, Case-by-Case)

– Written warning and conditions on future contact (e.g., email-only).
– Temporary or permanent account suspension/closure and cancellation of non-essential services.
– Blocking of communication channels where appropriate.
– Law-enforcement referral and cooperation with authorities where threats or criminal conduct are involved.
– We retain records (call logs, emails, chats, CCTV where lawful) to evidence incidents.

6) Reporting & Handling Process

  1. Immediate safety first — the employee ends the contact if needed and informs a manager.
  2. Log the incident — time, channel, parties, brief description, any evidence (emails, recordings where lawful).
  3. Manager review — assesses severity and assigns actions; consults relevant leadership as needed (e.g., HR/Legal).
  4. Regional coordination — when a case touches operations in more than one region, managers in Jaipur, UK/EU, US, Canada, Australia coordinate for a consistent decision.
  5. Outcome — actions communicated to the customer/partner; conditions for future engagement (if any) are stated clearly.

7) Links to Other Policies

This policy works alongside our Modern Slavery, Health & Safety, Escalation Procedure, and Code of Conduct.
Commercial disputes continue through the Escalation Procedure; abusive conduct is handled under this policy first to protect staff.

8) Statement of Zero Tolerance

Artisan Furniture maintains zero tolerance for intimidation, abuse, aggression, or violence toward employees anywhere we operate — Jaipur, the UK, EU, US, Canada, Australia, and beyond. We will act swiftly and decisively to protect our people.
