Modern Slavery Policy

Product

1. Introduction

Artisan Furniture is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity across our operations. We fully support the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We recognise the global concern about modern slavery, including slavery, forced labour, servitude, and human trafficking, and pledge to prevent any such practices within our business and supply chain.

2. Structure & Supply Chains

We are a British company (Global Vision Direct Limited trading as Artisan Furniture) operating from Central London, with our own manufacturing facility in Jaipur, India. We also operate a storage and distribution facility in Ipswich, UK, near Felixstowe. Our sourcing is exclusively through our community factory in Jaipur, India, which is SMETA-audited and aligned with the principles of B Corp certification.

Our fulfilment centres include:

Ipswich, UK

Our flagship fulfilment centre, handling all UK orders and international worldwide deliveries (excluding EU).

Magdeburg, DE and Madrid, ES

Fairview, NJ & Compton, CA - USA

This infrastructure allows Artisan Furniture partners to access some of the world’s largest markets — North America, the UK, the European Union, and Australia — all supplied directly from our Jaipur factory. Our operations are built on transparency, sustainability, and ethical practices.

3. Compliance & Responsible Sourcing

Our Jaipur factory is SMETA-audited in relation to social standards, ensuring compliance with ethical manufacturing practices. We also align ourselves with B Corp values, ensuring responsibility in terms of sustainability, transparency, and community impact. All our timber is EUTR-compliant, ensuring responsible forestry and legal sourcing.

4. Zero-Tolerance & Contractual Obligations

We enforce a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking. All factories and suppliers we work with are required to read, acknowledge, and confirm understanding of our modern slavery requirements. Suppliers must also agree contractually to comply with these policies.

5. Due Diligence & Risk Assessment

Due diligence is performed on all suppliers and associated operations. We assess risks not only in production but also across freight forwarding, warehouse operations, and administrative functions. Risk assessments include modern slavery risk, and we continuously monitor and evaluate supplier practices accordingly.

6. Action & Remedial Measures

When we discover poor labour practices, we engage with the supplier to remediate the issue where possible. In serious or non-remediable cases, we will immediately terminate contractual relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our standards.

7. Training & Awareness

We provide training and guidance on modern slavery and human trafficking issues to all our suppliers and internal teams. Our UK headquarters and Jaipur factory conduct regular visits and direct training to ensure awareness and compliance.

8. Reporting & Accountability

We encourage reporting of any malpractice. Any individual witnessing or suspecting forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, or other unethical labour practices should notify our compliance channels. We aim to continuously strengthen our policies around recruitment, worker welfare, and transparency to foster ethical conduct.

9. Conclusion

Artisan Furniture is dedicated to maintaining a supply chain free from modern slavery. We commit to continuous improvement in our policies, due diligence, and ethical sourcing. We expect all partners, suppliers, and stakeholders to share in this commitment.
