The Artisan Furniture Hybrid Container Program offers a flexible middle path between Trade and Wholesale purchasing. It is specifically designed for partners who wish to scale up responsibly without committing to a full 40-foot High Cube container. This program is exclusively available to trade partners based in the United Kingdom, United States, European Union, Canada, and Australia. Hybrid containers allow smaller importers to share space within a consolidated 40-foot High Cube container while still enjoying the same quality, pricing advantages, and certifications as our Wholesale Program.

A 20-foot container may seem like a modest commitment, yet the cost differential is minimal—shipping for a 20-foot container is typically around 90% of the cost of a 40-foot High Cube. For example, if a 40-foot container costs USD 2,000 to ship, a 20-foot container would still cost about USD 1,800, making it less economical. The Hybrid Container Program addresses this challenge by enabling customers to reserve up to 20 feet of shared space within an Artisan container headed to one of our seven fulfilment centres.

Why the Hybrid Container Program Exists

The Hybrid Container Program was established to support small to mid-scale businesses transitioning from regional Trade or Dropship programs into full-scale wholesale trading. It offers a cost-effective solution for importers who require smaller volumes without bearing the high cost of dedicated 20-foot freight. This hybrid model ensures access to competitive pricing, sustainable production, and complete quality control while optimising freight economics.

How the Hybrid Model Works

Participants in the Hybrid Container Program reserve approximately 20 feet (or more) of space within a scheduled 40-foot High Cube container on a pro-rata basis. The container is shipped to one of Artisan’s seven fulfilment centres located in Ipswich (UK), Fairview (New Jersey), Compton (California), Madrid (Spain), Magdeburg (Germany), Brampton (Ontario), and Melbourne (Victoria). Upon arrival, products can either be collected directly or dispatched through our regional logistics network. This ensures that businesses enjoy the financial efficiency of shared logistics while maintaining access to the same discounts, bespoke options, and quality standards as Wholesale customers.

Testing Our Quality Before You Scale

Before joining the Hybrid or Wholesale programs, customers operating in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, or the European Union can test our product quality, packaging, and trend alignment through lower-volume options. Artisan’s physical fulfilment centres in these regions enable partners to evaluate quality and logistics performance by using the Dropship or Trade programs before scaling up.

Full Access to the Artisan Catalogue

Hybrid partners enjoy unrestricted access to the complete Artisan catalogue—including every design, finish, hardware configuration, and leg type. Bespoke options can be produced at no additional design charge apart from the material or dimensional adjustments involved. This flexibility enables importers to trial diverse designs, consolidate SKUs, and validate their market strategy before scaling into full-container volumes.

Packaging and Private Labelling

The program supports two advanced packaging systems—Internet-based (Dropship) packaging and Wholesale packaging. Internet-based packaging is compact, eco-conscious, and suitable for e-commerce fulfilment, whereas Wholesale packaging is reinforced and palletised for offline distribution. Customisation options such as private labels, barcodes, branding sleeves, and export markings are available for all Hybrid shipments directly from the Jaipur factory.

Logistics, Shipping, and Delivery

All Hybrid containers are loaded and dispatched from Artisan’s certified manufacturing base in Jaipur, India. Containers are shared among multiple customers and shipped to one of our seven fulfilment centres for regional delivery or collection. Freight costs are calculated on a pro-rata basis, ensuring proportional billing for the utilised container volume. Artisan oversees customs documentation, insurance, and freight coordination, ensuring a seamless delivery experience for every participant.

The Jaipur Factory – Certified to Global Standards

The Jaipur factory stands at the heart of the Hybrid Container Program. It is fully accredited under global standards—Vriksh for sustainable timber sourcing, SMETA for ethical trade compliance, GMP for process quality assurance, and B Corp for responsible business practices. This ensures that every Hybrid shipment reflects the same high standards of sustainability, craftsmanship, and social responsibility.

Quality Control and Reporting

Every Hybrid container shipment undergoes identical quality inspections as Wholesale orders. Each piece is evaluated for structure, finish, and packaging before dispatch. Customers can also request a third-party inspection report from an independent auditor for USD 100 (or equivalent) per container order. This report includes visual documentation and structural verification and is designed for compliance-oriented customers who wish to maintain their own audit records.

Opting for this report is entirely voluntary and does not affect product quality; the same stringent internal QC standards apply to all Hybrid orders.

This includes updates on trending finishes, shapes, and consumer preferences across the UK, USA, EU, Canada, and Australia.
