Mandatory Conditions Applicable to All B2B Returns (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, EU) and All B2C Returns (India Only)

This policy applies to:

  • All B2B customers in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and European Union; and
  • B2C customers exclusively in India.

Artisan Furniture does not offer B2C services outside India.

The requirement to retain original packaging is universal across these categories, and the return eligibility conditions outlined below apply strictly within the jurisdictions stated.

1. Disposal of Original Packaging Eliminates All Return Eligibility

If the original packaging is discarded, damaged or altered, the product becomes fully ineligible for return, replacement, credit or review.

This applies without exception to all B2B returns across UK, USA, Canada, Australia, EU, and all B2C returns in India.

2. Repackaging Into Substitute Packaging Is Not Accepted

Products cannot be returned in alternative packaging due to:

  • Carrier refusal to handle unverified or unsafe packaging
  • Loss of insurance liability
  • Removal of SKU, barcode and batch identifiers
  • Chain-of-custody and compliance risks

Repackaging in new boxes or improvised materials results in automatic invalidation of the return.

3. Chain-of-Custody, Batch Verification & Root-Cause Analysis

All returns require complete traceability. Discarding packaging prevents:

  • Batch number confirmation
  • Barcode scanning
  • Production-lot investigation
  • Root-cause verification
  • Compliance documentation

No return can proceed without original packaging.

4. Mandatory Return of the Product in All Cases (Including Infestation)

The physical product must always be returned for inspection for:

  • Manufacturing defect
  • Transit damage
  • Environmental transit impact
  • Infestation claims
  • Structural concerns

This requirement applies to all B2B customers globally and B2C customers in India only.

5. Legal Interpretation: Disposal of Packaging = Acceptance of Goods

Across UK, EU, USA, Australia, Canada and India, disposal of packaging is interpreted as acceptance of goods and removal of evidentiary grounds for return.

6. Carrier, Insurance & Safety Restrictions

Carriers will not collect or insure:

  • Unpackaged items
  • Repackaged goods
  • Items missing SKU labels

If carriers cannot legally collect, Artisan Furniture cannot process the return.

7. Binding Condition of Sale (Explicit Geographic Scope)

Conditions apply to:

  • All B2B orders in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, EU
  • All B2C orders placed in India ONLY

Customers agree:

  • Original packaging is mandatory
  • Disposal voids all return eligibility
  • Repackaged goods will not be accepted
  • Product must always be returned for inspection
  • No exceptions apply

Conclusion

Original packaging is essential for carrier acceptance, traceability, compliance and claim verification. Once packaging is discarded, all return rights cease across all B2B markets and for B2C in India.
