Artisan Furniture (Global Vision Direct Ltd) supplies solid-wood furniture designed for specific functional uses within residential and light-use environments. Correct usage is essential for safety, performance and return eligibility. This policy establishes the clear limitations and suitability parameters for each product category.

1. Intended Use of Each Product Category

Each furniture category is engineered for a defined purpose. Use outside the intended purpose is considered misuse and is not eligible for return.

Examples include:

Bedside tables: not suitable for sitting, climbing or stepping
Coffee tables: not suitable for use as seating or ladders
Sideboards & cabinets: not engineered for industrial or excessive load storage
Media units: not designed to support body weight
Wall-mounted units: are not load-rated for body weight or vertical force and must never be used for standing, stepping or climbing. Such usage exceeds the product’s design parameters and invalidates all return eligibility.
Decorative stools: not engineered for sustained or heavy seating unless explicitly stated

The intended purpose is determined by the product design, structure and original specification.

2. Environmental Suitability

Unless explicitly described as outdoor furniture, all products must be used indoors in stable, dry, and ventilated environments.

Products must not be placed:

outdoors or semi-outdoors
in bathrooms or high-humidity zones
in damp basements or garages
in unventilated storage spaces
directly against radiators, heat vents or heat sources

Moisture exposure or extreme temperature fluctuation is classified as misuse.

3. Weight, Load and Structural Limitations

Products are designed for normal residential/light-use weight loads. They are not designed for:

climbing, stepping or standing
supporting heavy commercial machinery
high-impact use
concentrated heavy loads beyond structural capacity

Exceeding load expectations is considered misuse.

4. Modifications & Alterations Not Permitted

Any modification invalidates return eligibility. This includes:

drilling or adding holes
cutting, sanding or altering the structure
attaching alternative tops (stone, metal, glass, etc.)
adding aftermarket brackets, hinges or supports
replacing structural elements
altering paint, stain or finish prior to assessment

Modification transfers full liability to the customer.

5. Handling, Movement & Surface Protection

The following actions fall outside normal product use:

dragging furniture instead of lifting
sliding items across uneven floors
exposing surfaces to hot, wet or abrasive items
using harsh chemicalcleaners
placing furniture near direct heat or prolonged direct sunlight
using furniture without floor-protection pads

These conditions may cause avoidable damage and are considered improper handling.

6. Indoor Functional Classification

Furniture must be used according to the functional classification listed on the product page, including but not limited to:

living room furniture
bedroom furniture
hallway furniture
office and study items
decorative or accent pieces

Using furniture outside its functional classification (e.g., using an accent table for heavy storage or an indoor table in a studio kitchen) constitutes misuse.

Conclusion

This policy sets out the intended use, environmental suitability and category limitations that apply to all Artisan Furniture products. Misuse, incorrect environment, overloading, improper handling or any unapproved modification voids return eligibility. This policy forms a binding part of the Terms & Conditions accepted at the time of account creation.
